Deforestation causes a major effect well known as climate change. Trees and rainforests are an essential part of the air cycle. They absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen. Deforestation slows this process which can seriously affect the world. Without this process carbon emissions build up and trap in heat from the sun. This trapped heat causes climate change known by another name global warming.
Climate change can really affect the world around us. One of the biggest effects are on ice caps. Climate change melts polar ice caps which let loose large amounts of water. This water will raise the water level and affect many things. Coastal cities will be extremely affected for instance New Orleans which has some major problem right now so, just imagine what will happen when the sea level rises more.
Not all deforestation is caused intentionally. A well amount of deforestation is caused by wildfires which cause some of the same effects. It can happen because of anything from simple mistakes to purposefully leaving an open flame unattended. People dumping chemicals can cause it to. Which will affect the trees in the area and future saplings to.
I think it wouldn’t be that difficult to be responsible with fire. While researching I found many cases about forest fires starting from one person being dumb. I’m not sure if it’s a problem in America but in other countries there are less restrictions on chemical dumping. In countries where chemicals are dumped it can seriously mess up an ecosystem which is screwed up. I’m pretty surprised about how many people don’t think climate change is even a thing.
